THE VISION: 
​A Modern Missionary Disciple

We envision that no one would ever feel separated from Christ. In ministering to the loneliest generation, we hope to instill in them the ever-lasting presence of Christ in their lives. We pursue this vision by sending missionaries to the underserved communities in the church to work with their junior high and high school youth, and developing relationships and trust with their families and the greater parish community. 

Our goal for our missionaries is to create a sustainable lifestyle and to give them the freedom to serve with their gifts and passion. We strive to build an environment and culture that allows people to begin their journey in ministry or continue in it sustainably for the long term. We support our missionaries so that they can thrive mentally, physically, spiritually, and financially whether single, married, just out of college, discerning religious life, or even if you have a house full of kids.

JOB SUMMARY

The full-time missionary is responsible for evangelizing & discipling middle and high school teens within a Catholic parish in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. Full-time missionaries will work a flexible schedule of 35-40 hours a week. They will serve alongside a missionary team, led by a lead missionary, to fulfill the vision in forming teens through 1-on-1 discipleship, youth group, bible studies, retreats, and other ways the team discerns to serve that particular mission. 


No one is left to serve on their own. They are encouraged to find additional ways in which to reach and serve the community outside of the parish. Full-time missionaries are trained and required to support raise and to build their support team for long-term financial stability so that they have the freedom to increase their support team when prudent. The foundation of all of this is prayer. Missionaries are asked to spend 30-60 minutes in prayer each day and to make an annual personal retreat.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

  • Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church
  • Works well in a team
  • Must support raise a salary- Monthly financial support varies depending on the individual, couple’s, or family’s needs and amount raised
  • Attention to detail is critical to mission success
  • Bonus: Bi-lingual – not necessary but appreciated
